For the first time in history Pantone has introduced two shades of the year – Rose Quartz and Serenity as the Color of the Year 2016, generally they choose one color of the year like they did last time for Year 2015 – Marsala.

According to Pantone Color Institute – Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Whereas Serenity is weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times.
“In many parts of the world we are experiencing a gender blur as it relates to fashion, which has in turn impacted color trends throughout all other areas of design,” Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of Pantone’s Color Institute wrote of the decision.
Colors this season transcend cultural and gender norms.
